Letting Go, Opening Up, and Moving Into a New Way of Being

I’ve been noticing that we’re continuing to dig deeper and let go of things that are no longer serving us. At the same time, things are starting to show up in our environment in a bigger way to help us work things through. There’s plenty happening—both collectively and personally—that can trigger us. And whatever our core issue is, we can be sure it will surface so we can see how we respond.

There is still some divisiveness in the world, although I do feel it is lessening. Even so, it can still be triggering—especially when we encounter someone who only sees things one way and has no interest in another perspective. If that happens to be one of our triggers, we might react in ways that show us we’re not finished with that issue yet. We may get upset, shut down, or respond in ways that aren’t ideal.

For me, I like to feel neutral. When I can reach a place of neutrality, I know I’ve completed that issue. And usually, it won’t come back with any emotional charge—or if it does, it doesn’t affect me the same way.

So how do we get there?

A lot of it begins with intention—simply asking to let the issue go. Often, what truly clears it is a new perception. Acting like we know nothing can be incredibly powerful. Approaching life with a beginner’s mind—where everything feels new—helps release old patterns. It certainly has for me.

There have been many times when I’ve consciously stepped into that space, asking that whatever belief or perception is causing the trigger be released, and that I be shown a brand-new way of seeing things. Sometimes that new perspective doesn’t come right away. It may arrive as an “aha” moment—a peak experience—where suddenly something shifts. I might see a hidden gift or talent within myself, or recognize something that no longer serves me, whether it came from my own life, my ancestry, or even other lifetimes.

As we let go of these old perceptions, we often find that when similar situations arise again, we respond differently. We’ve moved beyond the old pattern. That’s the goal.

And as we release what no longer serves us, we naturally begin to bring in the new. Again, it comes back to that beginner’s mind—being open, empty, and receptive. When we reach that open state, new experiences and possibilities can flow in—often in ways we couldn’t have imagined.

We’ve talked before about surrender—about handing things over to your Higher Self. It’s like letting go of the steering wheel and allowing something greater to guide you. I remember when I was about 17 years old, I nearly drove into oncoming traffic, and something took over and moved the car safely aside. That feeling of being guided has stayed with me.

When we release control and let go of old ways of doing things, something new can enter. It might be a new relationship, a new opportunity, or a shift within existing relationships. Sometimes even long-standing family issues resolve because an old belief that was holding everything in place has finally been released.

I’ve also noticed that as I’ve let go of old “heart walls”—those beliefs that create barriers in our energy field—I feel completely different. These walls can keep new things from coming in and prevent old things from leaving. When they dissolve, everything shifts.

Recently, while on vacation, I felt this in a very tangible way. Watching birds along the shore, I felt a deeper connection than I ever had before. The beauty of the ocean touched me in a new way. Seeing dogs running joyfully in and out of the water filled me with a sense of happiness I could actually feel in my body. Those experiences were different because those old walls were no longer in the way.

This is why it’s so important to continue letting go. And it’s rarely a one-time process. We release something, step into a new level of openness, and then—over time—even those newer beliefs can become outdated. We are always evolving.

And this is exactly how it fits into what many of us are calling New Earth.

New Earth isn’t something separate from us or somewhere we eventually arrive—it’s something we move into as we let go of the old patterns, the old beliefs, and the old ways of responding that were rooted in separation, fear, and division. Every time we release a trigger, every time we shift into neutrality, every time we choose openness over reaction, we are aligning with that new energy.

If we can stay open, maintaining that beginner’s mind, we allow ourselves to continuously release what no longer serves us—even beliefs that once helped us. We begin to live with a fresh perspective, a renewed connection to nature, to others, and to ourselves.

We are living in incredibly exciting times—times unlike any we’ve experienced before. There are beautiful energies available to us now that support releasing divisiveness, both within and around us, and moving into a more uplifting way of being.

Even when we don’t agree with others, we can become curious. We can listen, explore different viewpoints, and expand our understanding. I’ve always enjoyed exploring different belief systems—it reminds me how much there is to learn, to experience, and to discover.

As we move into this New Earth energy, we may find ourselves naturally drawn to connection—connection with others, with nature, and with that childlike sense of wonder. It becomes less about being right and more about being open.

We can imagine ourselves walking up a stairway into this new energy—or simply recognize that we are already there. This beautiful, mystical energy is available to us now. And as we continue letting go of old beliefs and dissolving those heart walls, we deepen into it.

Each time something new arises that no longer serves us, we release it. Each time an old belief surfaces, we let it go. And in doing so, we move more fully into a space of joy, openness, and interconnection—experiencing life, and each other, in a whole new way.
