Lately, many people have been experiencing strong emotions rising to the surface. These emotions can feel intense and sometimes overwhelming, but they’re often not just about what’s happening right now—they’re connected to deeper layers within us.
These emotional responses are frequently tied to old wounds from different time frames in our lives. Something in your current life may be triggering an experience from childhood, young adulthood, or another time when something wasn’t fully worked through. When that happens, the emotional charge from the past can rise up as if it’s happening all over again.
Some people feel like these emotions are bursting out, while others feel a strong need to release them through crying, movement, or other forms of expression. While this process can be uncomfortable, it’s also a sign that something is ready to be cleared.
Emotions aren’t always entirely our own. They can also be inherited. You may be feeling something that connects not only to your current experience, but also to your past, your ancestry, or even another lifetime. Because of this, a single emotional trigger can have multiple layers.
This is why it’s so helpful to identify where something is coming from. Is it yours from this lifetime? Is it connected to something earlier in your life? An ancestral pattern? Simply asking these questions can begin to shift the experience.
